Volunteer at VBS

VBS is a team effort in which Ewalu counselors, Zion volunteers, parents, and campers serve together to make the program exciting and enriching.  To make it all work, we need the help of willing volunteers:

  • Teachers to plan and staff the morning Preschool program
  • Junior High and High School age helpers (Kool Aides) for Preschool and Day Camp
  • Adults to help plan the Day Camp afternoon program, participate in bible study, lead craft projects, prepare snacks for hungry children and meals for hungry counselors, and coordinate the offsite field trip for the rising 5th and 6th graders

Don’t have time to give, or a camper to sign-up, but want to contribute? Please consider supporting this summer program through a monetary gift, or donation of snacks or needed supplies. All of these things are appreciated!

Please consider supporting VBS this year with the gift of your time or a contribution.  For more information, contact Maggie Atkinson at 319-338-0944.

VBS Adult Volunteer Form

Kool Aide Volunteer Form

If this is your first time volunteering at Zion, it’s important to know that all adults who work with youth and/or children must complete a Volunteer Application, agree to the Child Protection Policies, and give permission for Zion Lutheran Church to do a background check.  Please print the Volunteer Application, complete and sign the documents and return them to the Zion Office in a sealed envelope marked CONFIDENTIAL and addressed to Shannon Esmann, Office Manager.
